Nature is awekening

Category: Nature
Written by:

So here we are, the beginning of March and looking behind to a 2015/16 winter that never really existed. Looking at the long range forecast, we see nothing but above average temps as far as science can see. Of course, we all know Mother Nature has a few tricks up her sleeve that she's been saving for us. Nonetheless, the Red Buds are out, Daffodils spot yards with their beautiful yellow flowers and the Azaleas are getting ready to bloom profusely.

What does this mean for the lake? Did the warm temps allow bugs that should have died to live? Is the fishing about to erupt into a frenzy leading to freezers of freshly wrapped fillets? Does this mean an unbearably hot spring, summer and....oh no, fall?

No one can answer these questions, but it will be interesting to look back next winter and see how it played out.
The one positive other than the fact we had a nice warm winter.......the lake is full to begin the year.
So, I guess I can sign out and say, stay tuned!
