Things to do in the area

Crockett is the county seat of Houston County, not to be confused with Harris county where the city of Houston sets. Crockett is situated in the Piney Woods area of East Texas and has an approx. population of 7400 people. The city is home to many restaurants, stores and specialty shops. We have a Super Walmart, smaller H.E.B. and a Brookshire Brothers for grocery stores.
We are also home to auto parts stores, a Tractor Supply, numerous gas stations and the usual abundance of convenience stores.
Crockett is also home to an impressive medical center with life flight.
Crockett and surrounding Houston County only sell beer or wine at stores. Alcoholic (hard) drinks can be purchased at various restaurants but is only for sale (in bottles) in surrounding counties.
There are too many places and things to do too accurately list, they are constantly changing. We will list the most popular and stable. We will be happy to answer any questions s best we can if you e-mail This email address is being protected from spambots.
