• Houston County Lake was considered the premier Bass lake in Texas, prior to Lake Fork taking the title. It is still listed as a lake most likely to produce a record Bass. It's smaller size and fishing structure make it a fishermans paradise. It's a smaller lake at 1330 acres, storms and winds aren't a life threatening event to those caught in a storm.
•  It is a slot lake and does have a set of rules that can be found here . The lake attracts people from all over Texas. Whether you're seeking Bass, Catfish, Perch or Crappie there's a great chance you will be successful.
•  There are two bait shops on the lake, both are on C.R. 2140 Pop's Bait House (George ) is the first one you will see on the right, the second is The Marina and campground (936-544-8466) further down the road. Both have limited hours and aren't always open. It's always best to call first.
